Owens to Start 17th in Carolina 200

Alli Owens will start the Carolina 200 from the inside of row 9.  The ElectrifyingCareers.com Toyota rounded the one-mile Rockingham Speedway in 24.485 seconds on its qualifying lap, good enough for 17th place.  Owens'average speed of 141.26 mph was only .787 seconds slower than Ken Schrader’s pole-sitting run. Her effort marked her second top-20 starting position in as many tries.

"The ElectrifyingCareers.com car was a little bit loose during our qualifying run," said Owens. "That’s OK, though. We spent most of our practice session focusing on race runs and I know that it will pay off tomorrow. Our car runs great in race trim and we’re going to be fast when it counts, especially on long runs.  It’s more important to be consistent at Rockingham (Speedway) than it is to post one quick lap, and the No. 19 team is prepared to be the fastest when it matters most."

The Carolina 200 will begin Sunday at 1:00.  TV coverage will be on SPEED TV.
